National SPRE Accelerator 2025
Mission
To promote inclusion with culturally and spiritually relevant services for people with disabilities. DEEN operates a number of programs & services in Mississauga, Ottawa and Scarborough and serves all individuals with disabilities regardless of religion, language and culture.
Project
The Muneeba Centre Renovation project aims to create a functional, accessible, and welcoming space for the community by renovating and increasing the capacity of the headquarters and main facility of DEEN Support Services, ultimately expanding the organization’s fully accessible programming and meeting space to serve racialized individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. The Muneeba Centre Renovation will significantly expand community access to culturally appropriate services and life skills training for racialized people with disabilities, meeting the goal of supporting community inclusion. In addition, the Muneeba Centre will retain its character as a home and shelter people through overnight respite units.
In the Accelerator, they will
Access additional support to optimize the use of their existing space/development and fully leverage available funding opportunities through deepening their understanding of the development process; strengthening financial strategies and maximizing public funding opportunities; and further cultivate relationships with key funding partners. The end result will be a sustainable, long-term business plan that advances opportunities and quality of life for people with disabilities
