The infrastructure Institute currently has three training programs:

SPRE Groundwork Programming

The Infrastructure Institute’s Groundwork Initiative encompasses both an ecosystem of partners and a structured series of capacity building programs designed to support and speed-up the pre-development processes for mission-driven organizations who wish to invest in their own spaces.

Roadmap Connect

Infrastructure Institute supports CP Planning as a program delivery partner in the Social Purpose Real Estate (SPRE) mentorship programs as part of CP Planning’s Roadmap For Redevelopment: Plans to Confront Systemic Racism “Roadmap”. These programs seek to address the barriers that racialized leaders and communities of non-profit organizations face in the development and procurement of affordable housing.

FutureBUILDS BIPOC Real Estate Development Incubator

FutureBUILDS is a BIPOC Real Estate Development Incubator developed by Monumental and implemented in partnership with the University of Toronto’s Infrastructure Institute. The project is funded by the Future Skills Centre. FutureBUILDS seeks to support mid-career Black, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPOC), who are interested in launching entrepreneurial ventures in real estate development. Informed by  research conducted by Monumental on the experiences of racialized individuals in the real estate development sector, this free incubator program will build a new cohort of real estate developers across Canada, starting with a pilot in Toronto. The goal of this initiative is to add new thinking, agility and ideas into the sector by engaging BIPOC entrepreneurs and innovators who are passionate about solving issues of access to housing and housing affordability.
