Roadmap Connect Program

Infrastructure Institute is thrilled to support CP Planning as a program delivery partner in the Social Purpose Real Estate (SPRE) mentorship programs as part of CP Planning’s Roadmap For Redevelopment: Plans to Confront Systemic Racism “Roadmap”. These programs seek to address the barriers that racialized leaders and communities of non-profit organizations face in the development and procurement of affordable housing.

About the Roadmap
The Roadmap is an Ontario-wide project led by CP Planning addressing the problem of systemic racism, displacement and low planning outputs of affordable housing through the creation and implementation of Inclusive Neighbourhood Planning Hubs supported by strategic planning, mentorship, and vertical integration between racialized communities and those with assets, knowledge and/or social capital to plan and develop affordable housing.

Webinar Series

This ten-part free webinar series will be hosted by the Infrastructure Institute as part of the Roadmap Connect program. CP Planning and Infrastructure Institute will release the first instalment in fall 2023. These webinars are designed to enhance the knowledge and capacity of non-profit organizations, empowering them to become partner-ready to pursue real estate development projects. The series will focus on preparing non-profit boards to plan, propose, and partner to build or operate housing , and provide an overview of real estate financial literacy. The first part of our series is now complete, you can watch Infrastructure Institute previous webinars here.

Roadmap Connect Networking Mixer

On February 29, 2024 Infrastructure Institute along with CP Planning invited industry leaders, developers and community members to spend an evening getting to know each other and make meaningful connections. We hope these new connections will bring movement towards breaking barriers for creating more affordable housing in racialized communities.

Program Series Description

The Organizational Readiness and Accelerator Programs are free, public programs to support and speed up pre-development processes for mission-driven organizations who wish to invest in their own spaces.  The Organizational Readiness Program is a 6-week program for organizations seeking support with an assessment of their “readiness” to develop a project. The Accelerator is a more intensive 6-month program designed for groups ready for the next phase in developing a social purpose development that includes a housing component, with a confirmed concept, and in search of hands-on support through the pre-development phase of a project. The Accelerator program seeks to go beyond building capacity within an organization, focusing on working with groups to start drafting the project details that they need to pitch projects to partners, funders, investors, and government agencies. All participants have the opportunity to pitch their projects to investors and potential project partners from the Accelerator’s ecosystem of collaborators.
