Mission

U Multicultural Canada is a community-focused media organization dedicated to amplifying the voices of underrepresented and Indigenous communities across Canada. Through television, radio, and digital platforms, they provide culturally relevant news, storytelling, and educational content that reflects the diversity and richness of Canadian society. They produce programming in multiple languages, collaborating with ethnocultural communities to ensure their stories are heard, understood, and celebrated. In addition to content creation, U Multicultural Canada offers media training programs for youth and community members, equipping them with the skills to engage in journalism, broadcasting, and storytelling. These initiatives strengthen community capacity, promote civic engagement, and foster cultural understanding. By bridging gaps between communities and the media, U Multicultural Canada seeks to create a more inclusive and informed public discourse. They are committed to supporting immigrant, Indigenous, and ethnocultural populations by giving them tools, platforms, and opportunities to share their experiences and contributions with the wider Canadian audience.

Project

U Multicultural Canada is developing a community-driven media hub that includes a TV and FM radio broadcasting center as well as a media training facility. The project aims to provide ethnocultural and Indigenous communities with access to professional-quality media platforms, enabling them to tell their own stories and share their voices with the wider public. In addition to broadcasting original programming in multiple languages, the project will offer media training workshops for youth and community members. These sessions will focus on journalism, broadcasting, and digital storytelling skills, empowering participants to produce their own content and engage actively in local media.

In the Accelerator, they will: grow their network and increase partnerships; access resources and knowledge sharing, particularly around funding strategies, operational models, and community engagement approaches; access strategic planning support; and refine the business plan and long-term operational goals.
