Background
A highly experienced leader in both client-focused service delivery as well as policy and program development, Debbie Stewart has spent over 20 years transforming the real estate industry with the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC). Debbie’s career at CMHC includes roles of progressive responsibility in strategic planning, human resources, policy and research, assisted housing and reconciliation. She was instrumental in shaping and delivering our country’s first National Housing Strategy, and advanced CMHC’s work to accelerate reconciliation.

Passionate about driving meaningful change in housing, Debbie currently leads the team focused on achieving CMHC’s goal of housing affordability for all. This team is responsible for nurturing the housing innovations and strong partnerships needed to solve this challenge. Prior to joining CMHC, Debbie worked as a corporate finance analyst with Canaccord Capital.
