Madeline joined the Infrastructure Institute in Spring 2022. She brings her background in architectural design and community engagement to the Institute, where she focuses on the SPRE Accelerator as well as consultations with shelter service providers. Madeline is a current second year MscPl student, and her research focuses on the intersection of Housing First policy and harm reduction in shelter design. Madeline is passionate about equitable access to housing and services for substance users, and brings a design lens to her research.

Prior to joining the II, Madeline completed her Architectural Design training at the Welsh School of Architecture, where her design project looking at the impact of Brexit in women living in Irish border towns was nominated for the Royal Institute of British Architect’s President’s Medal. She worked as an architectural designer focusing on social housing at Mae Architects, before moving to Canada to work for Studio AC as a housing designer. She then joined the team at CivicAction, and brought a creative lens to her work delivering leadership programs.
