Marcel is an accomplished real estate entrepreneur and Co-founder of a Startup called Renoshare, which enables contractors, developers, non-profit’s, and DIYer’s to share access to materials and localized trades, thereby creating cost savings and a more sustainable and equitable construction industry.
Marcel’s passion for real estate was sparked 20 years ago when he purchased his first investment property. He is a domain expert in residential development, investing, and mortgage financing. Previously, Marcel founded Garrison Capital, a licensed mortgage brokerage in Ontario and Garrison Alternative Asset Management, an asset manager of residential small multiplex investment properties, and private mortgage funds.
Marcel is actively innovating to help solve Canada’s housing affordability and supply crisis. He is called upon to advise and speak by various academic institutions and media outlets, including University of Toronto, School of Cities, Brookfield Centre for Real Estate & Infrastructure Schulich School of Business, The Globe and Mail, Canadianrealestatemagazine.ca, and local real estate investment clubs.
In addition to his work in real estate, Marcel is involved in philanthropic efforts such as the sustainable development of early childhood educational (ECE) schools in Rural Ethiopia. He is a co-founding member of the Black Opportunity Fund and mentor of the FutureBUILDS (by Monumental, University of Toronto and Infrastructure Institute) BIPOC Real Estate Development Incubator. Marcel’s commitment to innovation, community, and social responsibility is what motivates him to solve big industry challenges.
