Mission
Construct a purpose-built safe house and service hub for survivors of sex trafficking in York Region. The safe house and hub will provide both immediate crisis response and a supportive transitional living environment, with wrap-around services to address the unique needs of survivors.
Project
A project driven by a team of senior representatives of York Region Police, 360Kids, The Women’s Support Network York Region and Victim Services York Region, the proposed safe house and service hub will provide individual bedrooms for 12 clients, within two 6-bed pods connected by a service hub. The latter includes 3 individual crisis beds, meeting rooms, a medical room, and a classroom, providing a continuum of care from crisis to recovery delivered by peer support and professional staff trained on survivor needs. This safe house will operate with a low barrier to entry.

Work to secure government capital funding of $20M, and a $2M commitment from the community.
