Shelby Lee is the Communications Officer for the Infrastructure Institute within the School of Cities at the University of Toronto. She is a community-oriented communications specialist who loves crafting stories, supporting artists, small businesses and helping companies grow. With a background in PR and promotions she combines these skills with her passion for community outreach and to build others up.

Shelby most recently comes from the Kensington Market BIA where she was the Community and Social Media Manager. In this position she was able to accomplish several projects to both help beautify the neighbourhood and to support underserved members of the community with implementation of a community fridge, a personal care bank, having local artists paint concrete planters and gates and more. Shelby developed multi-dimensional programming during the pandemic to support the unique needs of businesses in the neighbourhood as they navigated a tumultuous period for small businesses around the world. Outside of her regular duties, Shelby was the volunteer coordinator for the 2022 Pedestrian Sunday season.

Outside of the Infrastructure Institute Shelby enjoys taking in Toronto’s vibrant movie scene, looking after her two kittens, and reading a good book.
