Post-Doctoral Fellow

Yinnon Geva (PhD, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, ’21) is an urban planner, studying partnerships in the development of social purpose real estate. In his dissertation, he examined the evolution of Israel’s state-led urban regeneration program that is based on partnerships between developers, homeowners, and municipalities. The study showed how different stakeholders balance the social implications and the market logics of the national program.

At the Infrastructure Institute, Yinnon is conducting a study of Social Purpose Real Estate development through multi-sector partnerships in Toronto. The study examines two aspects that help risky and complex projects come to life: creative use of development tools such as design and financing for social goals; and an emergent ecosystem of stakeholders that have earned trust and reputation in social development.
