Fellow

Yinnon Geva (PhD, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, ’21) is an assistant professor at the Institute for Management and Innovation, University of Toronto Mississauga. An urban planner, he teaches in the Master of Urban Innovation program. His research examines different interactions of real estate development and social policy, with a focus on affordable housing development. He also studies equity aspects of development, including state-led and infrastructure-led displacement. At the Infrastructure Institute, Yinnon conducted a study of Social Purpose Real Estate development through multi-sector partnerships in Toronto. The study examines two aspects that help risky and complex projects come to life: creative use of development tools such as design and financing for social goals; and an emergent ecosystem of stakeholders that have earned trust and reputation in social development. He also led a MITACS-funded study of historical transportation inequities in Toronto.
